With its spectacular backdrop of soaring peaks and sweeping glaciers, it
combines the charm and friendliness of a traditional alpine village with the
splendour of the high mountain scenery. The village of Les Houches is quieter
than nearby Chamonix but has its own unique character, typical of a rural French
village. There is an old core with a pretty church and weekly market in the
village square. Other amenities include restaurants, a few local bars, a
boulangerie and a well stocked supermarket. The helpful tourist office is
located on the village square opposite the church. Enjoy stunning views of the
Mount Blanc Massif from beautiful woodland trails that meander their way down to
the village. Les Houches is 6km from Chamonix, ideally located to explore all
that the Chamonix Valley has to offer. HouchesD is a large apartment is in an Italian style chalet build. It is
located ideally inside Les Houches. The well equipped interior provides relaxing accommodation in Chamonix.
The apartment comfortably sleeps up to eight people. There is everything you would expect in a modern chalet/ apartment in
Chamonix, TV, CD and DVD player, oven, 4 ring ceramic hob, dishwasher, ski locker, three
large sunny south-east facing balconies, parking and a secure ski locker. The nearest
bus stop is a short walk (200 metres) from the main road. There are regular
buses to and from Chamonix both during the winter and summer season, also buses
throughout the evening. The calm location and setting is ideal for a family
holiday, although only a ten minute drive from the centre of Chamonix, giving
the best of both worlds.
There is a private underground parking space and a secure ski locker directly
underneath the building. This apartment has the advantage of being associated
to a four start hotel with access to swimming pool, sauna and restaurant on
site.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a full-size oven, four-ring halogen hob,
extractor fan, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and plenty of cupboard storage. The
lounge has a comfortable sofa bed, and ample seating around a wooden dining
table. There is a TV, CD and DVD player. Sliding patio doors take you out onto the
balconies.
Bedroom 1 has a double bed and a built in wardrobe. Bedroom 2 has
two twin beds and storage. Bedroom 3 is a mezzanine bedroom with 2 single beds.
There is a double sofa bed in the lounge. There are also two large bathrooms with the apartment. The hall
has an additional cupboard for extra storage.
